Dina Lang, RYT 500 and co-owner of Santosha Yoga, was asked to be one of 12 yogis selected to be an Ambassador for the 2015 Yogathon to support yoga programs provided by Living Yoga a non-profit in the Portland, Ore. area.
It is an honor to be an Ambassador for Living Yoga’s Yogathon.
Anything that brings awareness to the good works being done on behalf of others is only a good thing. As a culture we hear first and foremost about wrong doings, bad news, human unkindnesses and it can breed hopelessness. But there are so many good things happening all the time and I am so blessed that my job is about offering a space for loving kindness to grow and spread.
Yoga is the practice of making time to step away from some of the negative influences around us and make a choice to fill our own spaces (bodies, minds, souls) with hopefulness.
In April, my personal practice and classes I teach will be dedicated to making space, creating a solid foundation on which to cultivate peace, love, tolerance, patience and hope. The good works of Living Yoga will be at heart center as the month’s intention. I hope you will join me by dedicating your practice this April to offering hope to those who need it most. By creating the best version of yourself on the mat, you give others permission to do the same and together we carry those best selves off the mat and into the world.
