Teaching Style: Soulful, Non-Judging, Compassionate, Strong
I discovered yoga years ago and found that the practice brought a deeper awareness of all life's gifts to my senses. I enjoy being part of that same discovery for others by sharing my passion for yoga. As a Vinyasa teacher I enjoy developing new and creative sequences to challenge my students. Since opening Santosha in 2010 I have focused a lot of energy creating programs for "Every Body". Plus size, Weight-loss, Senior and Gentle yoga classes bring this great practice to those who want and need yoga in their lives in a format more suitable to their experience and ability. In 2010, I became certified in Yoga Therapeutics. I love working with students one on one to help them develop a stronger practice or to recover from injury or illness.
This past summer, 2012, I began training with Sri Dharma Mittra in New York City. His 'Life of a Yogi' training is taking my personal practice and teaching to a whole new level. Now in the internship phase of the program I am bringing his demanding practices to Santosha and am amazed at the power it is bringing to the students here. Channeling his philosophy, his practice and his spirituality is a great honor.
Helping students of all ages and abilities discover their inner strength on and off the mat is truly my privilege.
