              Your First Class

Please arrive about 15 minutes early. This allows time for you to fill out a waiver form, get a brief tour of the studio, and chat with your teacher about any injuries or issues that might affect your practice.

Wear clean, comfortable clothing, and avoid eating an hour before class. Your body will thank you.

We provide mats to borrow at no charge. (You can, of course, always bring your own mat if you have one.)

Finding the Right Class for You

Our classes are color coded by "sweat index" so you can find the intensity level that suits your needs. Read the class descriptions for details, and if you still have questions, please ask!
Use the handy form in the sidebar or give us a call. We want to help you find the right fit.

              Yoga Etiquette

Based on the Yamas and Niyamas - the ethical "dos and don'ts" of yoga philosophy

              Be on time.
When you are on time for class, you are practicing the yama Asteya (non-stealing) by not taking the valuable time of others.

              Wear clean, comfortable clothing
and avoid eating or drinking an hour before class.
When you come to class clean in body, mind and spirit you are practicing the niyama Saucha (purity). Create a personal environment that can be adorned with the virtues of yoga and wear them out into the world.

Respect the Studio as a meditative space.
              Take conversations into the lobby.
When you practice the niyama Svadhyaya (self study) you will learn to listen quietly to your inner thoughts and feelings.  Personal observation and meditation sets the tone for your body, mind and spirit to be ready for the asana practice of yoga.

Be honest with yourself about what your body can do.
When you practice the yamas Satya (truthfulness) and Ahimsa (non-violence) you will protect your body from injury.  Practice the yama Brachmacharya (moderation) and the niyama Tapas (self-discipline)  and you will fully connect mind with body in that perfect integration that leads to a deeper sense of self and allows your yoga practice to flourish.

Be at peace with who you are today.
By practicing the niyama Santosha (contentment) you will find happiness just as you are.
